Everyday, your someone new

This is a pretty simple song. It is about a chameleon who wakes up one day in a tank and sees his reflexion in the glass and realises that he’s not the same chameleon that he was the day before. In fact, he realises that he is constantly changing and filling with colour.

I suppose it touches on the subject of self awareness and identity. Who we are? what we are? if we exist, what we are made of? When I watch “Harry’s 4th birthday” home video I don’t really recognise the small boy I see in the video. He seems a stranger to me because he’s not me. I was him and, in ten years time, I expect I will be a very different person. Well of course we grow up and I suppose now I am him and more. So within myself I am someone new.
